South Australian Micro Finance Fund

The PRESIDENT: The honourable and gallant and debonair Mr McLachlan.

The Hon. A.L. McLACHLAN ( 14:53 :13 ): Thank you. I am glad that your eyes are working on this side of the chamber, Mr President. My question is directed to the Minister for Automotive Transformation: can the minister advise the chamber who are the members of the pool of independent experts that the assessment panel of the South Australian Micro Finance Fund are able to access to assess the applications to the fund?

The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Manufacturing and Innovation, Minister for Automotive Transformation, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation) ( 14:53 :41 ): I thank the honourable member for his important question. The pool is many and varied.

The Hon. A.L. McLACHLAN ( 14:53 :48 ): A supplementary, Mr President: is the minister either able to provide today or take on notice the actual list of the independent experts and advise how they will be remunerated?

The Hon. K.J. MAHER (Minister for Manufacturing and Innovation, Minister for Automotive Transformation, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation) ( 14:54 :04 ): I absolutely will take it on notice. Again, it is a very tricky question that has found me wanting. He is a very good member and I suspect it is his lawyery experience that finds me wanting for this. I will take that on notice and bring back a response. I suspect, though, it is a very large pool of people that can be called upon for informal advice and there would not be remuneration, but I will check that is the case.
