First sitting day of State Parliament today | ABC Radio Adelaide

Breakfast | ABC Radio Adelaide

State Parliament will resume for the first time in more than five months today with a host of changes including a new Liberal Government, Labor Opposition, and a new Premier.

At 11 o’clock the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council will sit to swear in Members and elect a Speaker and a President, expected to be Liberal MPs Vincent Tarzia and Andrew McLachlan.

The Governor, Hieu Van Le, will outline the new Government’s Parliamentary agenda at a joint sitting of both Houses later in the day.

Political commentators say the honeymoon is over with Premier Marshall put to his first real test during Question Time.
